The Borno State Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MOPED) operates through core specialized departments. Each department holds specific statutory responsibilities designed to interlock and provide comprehensive governance, robust socio-economic data, transparent capital budgeting, and seamless alignment of international development assistance across all 27 Local Government Areas.
Formulates state medium and long-term development plans, coordinating policy frameworks across all 27 LGAs.
Drives economic recovery, resilience, and growth strategies for post-conflict communities.
Manages human resources, procurement, and general administrative services for the Ministry.
Handles financial management, budgeting, and accountability for the Ministry’s funds.
To guarantee fiscal integrity and seamless execution of the Borno State Development Plan, MOPED works in tight daily collaboration with all state Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)—particularly the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Budget—ensuring unified resource allocation and transparent governance.
